The Alamosa Mean Moose are taking a road trip to square off against the Bayfield Wolverines at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Alamosa is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Alamosa turned things around against Centauri last Friday. They put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 21-3 victory. The Mean Moose's hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Evan Anderson made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Anderson was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jonah Pittman was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nelson Arambula, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Alamosa always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Centauri only posted an OBP of .333.
Meanwhile, Bayfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Montezuma-Cortez, falling 15-5. That's two games in a row now that the Wolverines have lost by exactly ten runs.
Bayfield saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Wilmer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.
Bayfield's loss dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Alamosa, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
Alamosa might still be hurting after the 16-10 defeat they got from Bayfield in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Mean Moose avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
