While West Wendover put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Oasis Academy. The Wolverines were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Bighorns. Considering the Wolverines have won ten matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Aidien Rodriguez was a major factor no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in 14 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
In other batting news, Danny Soriano was incredible, going 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, four runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Tavian Gonzalez was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and three runs.
West Wendover always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .656. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oasis Academy only posted an OBP of .077.
West Wendover has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.5 runs over those games. As for Oasis Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 18-6.
