Baseball Recap: Caldwell Cougars vs. Columbia Wildcats

Caldwell was the 6-4 winner over Columbia when they last played one another on April 10th, but their luck changed this time around. The Caldwell Cougars fell just short of the Columbia Wildcats by a score of 12-11 on Friday.

Zaylor Bruegeman was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and ten unearned) runs off five hits. Bruegeman has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive pitching appearances. Bruegeman was even better at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, a triple, and a run.
