West Iron County fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against the L'Anse Purple Hornets by a score of 59-51 on Thursday. That's more bragging rights for the Wykons, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

L'Anse's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Talan Larson, who went 6-for-12 on his way to 17 points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Sam Lee, who posted 22 points.

West Iron County's win bumped their record up to 4-14. As for L'Anse, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 9-9.

Coming up, West Iron County will host Johnston at 6:15 p.m. on Monday. As for L'Anse, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-49 loss against Ewen-Trout Creek on the 14th.
