Recap: Ranchview Wolves vs. Poteet Pirates
The Ranchview Wolves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. The game between Ranchview and Poteet wasn't particularly close, with Ranchview falling 49-30. Ranchview lost against Poteet in their previous head to head back in December of 2018, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 62-29 score last time.
Alexis Simpson and Jadyn Smith certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Simpson scored 9 points, while Smith scored 7 points along with 12 rebounds. Simpson scored a full 30% of Ranchview's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Joy English was another key contributor, scoring 4 points.
Ranchview's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Poteet, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.
Ranchview will look to defend their home court on Friday against Newman Smith at 6:30 p.m. Poteet's road trip will continue as they head out to face Canyon at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st. Canyon presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Poteet in Texas (Canyon is ranked 47th, while Poteet is ranked 611th).
