Basketball Game Preview: El Segundo Eagles vs. South Spartans

The El Segundo Eagles will head out to square off against the South Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Last Tuesday, El Segundo came up short against North and fell 52-40.

Meanwhile, South was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-46 heartbreaker at the hands of Torrance. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Spartans have suffered since December 15, 2023.

South's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for El Segundo, their loss dropped their record down to 7-14.

El Segundo was able to grind out a solid victory over South in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 55-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for El Segundo since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
