Game recap: Hackleburg High School Football Team defeats Tharptown

RUSSELLVILLE, Ala. - Seth Moore ran for two touchdowns and Kristian Jones added two as well as Hackleburg (Ala.) bested Tharptown (Russellville, Ala.) 49-20 on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by Dylan Gallaway to Corey Yokom in the first quarter, the Panthers led 42-6 at the half.

Hackleburg expanded its lead to 43 points entering the fourth quarter. HHS scored once in the quarter on a Conner Stults touchdown run.

The Panthers put up 29 points in the second quarter en route to the win. Hackleburg scored on four rushing touchdowns in the quarter, including two by Moore.

Gallaway played well for HHS in the victory. The senior threw one touchdown and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored nine touchdowns on the season.



When the two teams played each other last season, the Panthers came away with a 41-12 victory.

Tharptown (2-7) goes up against Alabama School for the Deaf in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Hackleburg (8-1) locks horns with Phil Campbell also in a non-conference game.
