Franklin won the last time they faced Indian Trail and things went their way on Thursday too. The Sabers narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Hawks 10-9. That's two games straight that the Sabers have won by just one run.

Franklin got a massive performance out of Paige Walker, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Emily Gavin also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Franklin has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Indian Trail, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-2-1.

Coming up, Franklin will host Racine Horlick at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Indian Trail, they will head out to take on Oak Creek at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Hawks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
