After a string of four wins, Midland's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 64-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Church Point Bears. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while the Bears are ranked 109th).

Midland's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Church Point, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Midland is taking a road trip to take on Hathaway at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Church Point, they will host North Vermilion at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
