Baseball Recap: Houston Comes Up Short

Houston blew Fillmore Central/Lanesboro out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Fillmore Central/Lanesboro got their revenge. The Hurricanes fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 5-3. The Hurricanes just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Houston saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hector Steinfeldt, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Archer Semling also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Houston's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Fillmore Central/Lanesboro, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-4.

Coming up, Houston will host Southland at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Hurricanes' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rebels have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season. As for Fillmore Central/Lanesboro, they will head out to square off against St. Charles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Fighting Saints' pitching crew has only allowed two runs per game this season, so the Falcons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
