Basketball Recap: Pearl River Comes Up Short

Pearl River lost against Archbishop Chapelle back in November of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pearl River Rebels received a blow as they fell 42-24 to the Archbishop Chapelle Chipmunks. While losing is never fun, the Rebels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Chipmunks are ranked 42nd).

Archbishop Chapelle's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jena Gaudet led the charge by putting up eight points. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Dublin, who posted eight points.

Pearl River has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 15-12 record this season. As for Archbishop Chapelle, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 22-6.

Looking ahead, Pearl River won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Lakeshore at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Archbishop Chapelle does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
