Baseball Game Preview: Lutheran North Mustangs vs. Detroit Country Day Yellowjackets

The Lutheran North Mustangs will take on the Detroit Country Day Yellowjackets at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Lutheran North will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.

Lutheran North is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Cranbrook Kingswood a 16-0 shutout on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Cranes: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Detroit Country Day suffered their biggest loss since April 9, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against Rochester, falling 15-5. Yellowjackets fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Falcons since on Tuesday.

Lutheran North pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Detroit Country Day, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
