It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Hillcrest Christian had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They skirted past the Lamar Christian Lions 56-53. The victory was nothing new for the Cougars as they're now sitting on seven straight.

Hillcrest Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaivyn Carter led the charge by going 7 for 10 en route to 14 points along with eight boards and three steals. Carter has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jordan Johnson, who posted 12 points in addition to seven boards and four steals.

Hillcrest Christian's win bumped their record up to 17-9. As for Lamar Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 27-6.
