Basketball Recap: Tri Titans vs. Waldron Mohawks
Tri was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 51-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Waldron Mohawks. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Titans of the 60-56 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2024.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Waldron to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lucas Shaw, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 15 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave Shaw a new career-high in steals. Luke Myers was another key player, putting up 11 points.
Tri's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Waldron, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tri will face off against Northeastern at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Waldron, they will take on South Decatur at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. South Decatur is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.6 points per game this season.
