Basketball Recap: Make It Seven in a Row for Pawhuska

A well-balanced attack led Pawhuska over Morrison in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Pawhuska Huskies blew the Morrison Wildcats out of the water with a 63-36 final score. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while the Wildcats are ranked 227th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pawhuska was led to victory by Hannah Reynolds and Brooklyn Miles. Reynolds went 9 for 17 en route to 24 points along with six boards and three steals, while Miles went 7 of 11 on her way to 16 points in addition to eight assists and three blocks. The game was Reynolds' third in a row with at least ten points. Emillie Curry was another key player, going 6 for 11 en route to 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

They weren't the only one working in the assists department: Pawhuska was working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

The victory was the seventh in a row for Pawhuska, bringing their record for this year to 13-2. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.4 points per game. As for Morrison, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games.
