Basketball Game Preview: Jenkins Cavaliers vs. Letcher County Central Cougars / Lady Cougars

Jenkins hasn't had much luck against Letcher County Central recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Jenkins Cavaliers are taking a road trip to challenge the Letcher County Central Cougars / Lady Cougars at 7:30 p.m. Jenkins will be strutting in after a win while Letcher County Central will be coming in after a loss.

Jenkins will bounce into Friday's game after beating Leslie County, who they had gone 1-7 against in their eight prior meetings. Jenkins snuck past Leslie County with a 60-55 victory on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cavaliers.

Meanwhile, Letcher County Central ended up a good deal behind Breathitt County on Tuesday and lost 69-55. The Cougars / Lady Cougars haven't had much luck with the Bobcats recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Letcher County Central's defeat dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Jenkins, their win bumped their record up to 15-3.

Jenkins lost to Letcher County Central on the road by a decisive 64-50 margin in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Jenkins avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
