Basketball Recap: Metrolina Christian Academy Takes a Loss

Metrolina Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 51-48 heartbreaker at the hands of the SouthLake Christian Academy Eagles. The Warriors were not able to make up for their defeat to the Eagles from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Metrolina Christian Academy lost, don't look at Deangelo Walker. Despite the final result, he posted 16 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Walker is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Gadd, who scored nine points and six boards.

Metrolina Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for SouthLake Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season.

Metrolina Christian Academy and SouthLake Christian Academy could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Metrolina Christian Academy (ranked 304th) will meet Wesleyan Christian Academy (ranked 23rd) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, SouthLake Christian Academy will challenge Asheville Christian Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday down 159 places (193 vs. 34).
