Football Game Preview: Thornwood Thunderbirds vs. Bloom Blazing Trojan

The Thornwood Thunderbirds will face off against the Bloom Blazing Trojan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Thornwood's offense hasn't had much luck over their past three contests, but Friday's matchup will give them a chance to turn things around.

Thornwood's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Kankakee on Friday. They had to suffer through a 31-0 loss at the hands of the Kays. While losing is never fun, the Thunderbirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked 298th, while the Kays are ranked 32nd).

Meanwhile, Bloom also failed to score in their most recent game. They were beaten by Rich Township 42-0 on Saturday. The Blazing Trojan have struggled against the Raptors recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Bloom's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Thornwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Thornwood was able to grind out a solid victory over Bloom in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 14-6. Do the Thunderbirds have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blazing Trojan turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
