Baseball Recap: Slocomb Extends Road Winning Streak to Three

After losing to Geneva the last time they met, Slocomb decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Red Tops walked away with an 8-5 victory over the Panthers on Tuesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Tops.

Cade Hodges was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Goodman, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Slocomb pushed their record up to 12-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Geneva, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-11.

Coming up, Slocomb will face off against Providence Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Geneva, they will head out to face off against Dale County at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
