Basketball Recap: Heritage Takes a Loss

Heritage suffered their biggest loss since February 4th on Friday. They came up short against the Grayson Rams, falling 73-51. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Rams are ranked sixth).

Heritage has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.2 points over those games. As for Grayson, their win bumped their record up to 7-0.

Coming up, Heritage will head out on the road to take on Monroe Area at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots will be up against the Purple Hurricanes' rather soft defense (which has allowed 59.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Grayson, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Berkmar at 6:40 p.m. on Saturday. The Rams will need to watch out since the Patriots have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
