Football Recap: Clayton Skates Past New Auburn with Ease

Clayton waltzed into their contest on Saturday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They breezed past the New Auburn Trojans to the tune of 46-14. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bears also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Dayne Mumm continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 52 yards, while also throwing for 80 yards and one TD while completing 71.4% of his passes.

Mumm was just one part of a punishing run game: Clayton was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 305 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 257 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.

Clayton's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for New Auburn, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Clayton will square off against Bruce at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for New Auburn, they will take on Frederic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will need to watch out since the Vikings have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games.
