Flag Football Recap: Santa Ynez Wins Going Away Against Santa Maria

Santa Ynez owes their defense a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Santa Maria Saints as they made off with a 26-0 win. That looming 26-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Pirates yet this season.

Santa Ynez didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Ella Gotschall, Skyla Oslin, and Campbell McClurg picked up one apiece. Gotschall got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Santa Ynez's victory bumped their record up to 6-3. As for Santa Maria, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.
