Baseball Recap: Smithfield-Selma Comes Up Short

Smithfield-Selma fell victim to Southern Wayne and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Saints, falling 11-0. The Spartans haven't had much luck with the Saints recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Smithfield-Selma's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Southern Wayne, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-9.

Coming up, Smithfield-Selma will square off against Fike at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games the Demons have played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Southern Wayne, they will face off against East Wake at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Saints are facing the Warriors at the right time seeing as the Warriors are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
