Softball Game Preview: Cactus Shadows Falcons vs. Coronado Dons

The Cactus Shadows Falcons will head out to square off against the Coronado Dons at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Cactus Shadows is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.

Cactus Shadows is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They came out on top against Saguaro by a score of 18-14 on Wednesday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.

Bailey Fitzmaurice was a standout: she scored three runs while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in February of 2024. Gianna Lucchesi was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Coronado was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 22nd straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 13-2 to Yuma.

Cactus Shadows' win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for Coronado, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
