Basketball Recap: Rancho Extends Road Winning Streak to 17

Rancho came tearing into Thursday's match with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took their game with ease, bagging an 88-36 win over the Southeast Career Tech Roadrunners. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 22 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Jakoi Lide, who went 16 for 28 en route to 36 points in addition to five boards and four steals. That makes it ten consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Rancho's points. Ahmad Koroma was another key player, putting up ten points along with six assists and five steals.

Rancho smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 11 consecutive matches.

Several Roadrunners players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Diego Galarza, who posted eight points. Another player making a difference was Fletcher Gilbert, who put up eight points.

Rancho's victory was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.4 points per game. As for Southeast Career Tech, they now have a losing record at 11-12.

Rancho will welcome Palo Verde at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Southeast Career Tech, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-51 loss against Western on the 31st.
