Baseball Recap: Chesterfield Victorious

Chesterfield won the last time they faced Central and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Golden Rams walked away with a 9-5 win over the Eagles.

Bryce Adams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on 11 hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Rocket Watford and Sky Courtney did most of the damage at the plate: Watford went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Courtney went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Chesterfield is undefeated when Courtney posts two or more runs, but 3-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Brody Banasiewicz, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Chesterfield's victory bumped their record up to 9-7. As for Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season.

Chesterfield will have a chance to go back-to-back against Central: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
