Sage Creek dropped their record down to 9-9-1 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They came up short against  the La Costa Canyon Mavericks, falling  13-4. If the Bobcats were looking for revenge after losing  19-4 to the Mavericks when the teams met back in May of 2018, then they'll just have to keep looking.
 Sage Creek saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Lola Carson, who  went 2-for-4 with one  run and one  double. Another  was  Kaimana Coleman, who  went 3-for-4 with one  run.
As for La Costa Canyon, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6-1 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 7.3 runs over those games.
On La Costa Canyon's side,  Norah Coulsell was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. She  tossed three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. Coulsell has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs and two  RBI.
 In other batting news, La Costa Canyon got a  massive  performance out of  Malia Whitehouse, who  went 4-for-5 with three  runs and two  doubles. That's the most  runs  Whitehouse has posted since back in February of 2024.  Evan Connerley was another key player,  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances with three  RBI and one  run.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Sage Creek will  take on  rival Carlsbad  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. Meanwhile, La Costa Canyon is set to  challenge  their familiar foe Torrey Pines  at 4:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
