The Amelia County Raiders will take on the Nottoway Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Amelia County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Amelia County will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs last Monday, then bounced right back against Prince Edward County last Tuesday. The Raiders put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 12-2 win.
Daesya Shelton made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brennan Middlebrook, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Hanna Gough was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
Amelia County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Prince Edward County only posted an OBP of .364.
Meanwhile, Nottoway fell victim to Lunenburg Central and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 7-0 to the Chargers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Cougars have suffered since May 29, 2025.
Amelia County's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-9. As for Nottoway, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.
Amelia County skirted past Nottoway 4-2 when the teams last played back in April. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
