Basketball Game Preview: Kennebunk Rams vs. York Wildcats

Kennebunk is 2-8 against York since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Kennebunk Rams will head out to face off against the York Wildcats at 12:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Kennebunk comes in on three and York on nine.

On Tuesday, Kennebunk beat Biddeford 66-57.

Meanwhile, York greeted the New Year with with a 69-51 win over Cape Elizabeth. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Maine basketball rankings (they are ranked seventh, while the Capers are ranked 102nd), the result on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.

York pushed their record up to 9-0 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Kennebunk, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.

Kennebunk suffered a grim 65-43 defeat to York when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Kennebunk avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
