Softball Recap: Awaken Christian Comes Up Short

Awaken Christian and Needles squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Awaken Christian had to settle for second. They came up short against the Mustangs, falling 14-4. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, with their most recent defeat being a 23-0 loss back in March.

Awaken Christian saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylee Rasmussen, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Awaken Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Needles, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 17 of their last 18 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Awaken Christian is set to square off against their familiar foe Lincoln County at 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Needles will face off against rival White Pine at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
