Volleyball Recap: Bear River Starts Season with Victory on the Road

Bear River had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top against the East Leopards by a score of 3-1 on Thursday.

Bear River walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-22, 23-25, 25-17.

Bear River found their leader in sophomore Kailyn Rice, who had 18 digs and eight aces.

Bear River was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 20 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in August of 2024.

East is on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Bear River wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Juan Diego Catholic on the 19th. As for East, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Olympus on the 19th.
