Football Recap: Hillcrest Comes Up Short on the Road Against Benet Academy

Hillcrest had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They fell 18-8 to the Benet Academy Redwings on Friday. If the Hawks were looking for revenge after losing 35-13 to the Redwings when the teams met back in August of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Even if they lost, Hillcrest's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Ricky Wallace refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Jayden Lucas was another major factor on D, making seven total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending two passes in addition to snagging an interception.

Looking ahead, Hillcrest will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Montini Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Benet Academy, they will head out to square off against Glenbard North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
