Preview: West Rowan Falcons vs. Lake Norman Charter Knights
West Rowan is 5-0 against Lake Norman Charter since January of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The West Rowan Falcons will look to defend their home court against the Lake Norman Charter Knights at 7:30 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.
West Rowan gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. Everything went their way against North Iredell as West Rowan made off with a 67-47 victory.
Among those leading the charge was Will Givens, who scored 25 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayvone Norman, who scored 8 points along with 8 rebounds and 7 steals.
Even though Lake Norman Charter has not done well against Hough recently (they were 1-7 in their previous eight matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Lake Norman Charter came out on top against Hough by a score of 62-52.
Lake Norman Charter got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Braden Wilkie out in front who scored 19 points. Another player making a difference was Braylon Irelan, who scored 10 points along with 5 assists.
West Rowan's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Lake Norman Charter, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
West Rowan came out on top in a nail-biter against Lake Norman Charter in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 56-53. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Lake Norman Charter's Isaiah Martino, who scored 28 points along with 7 rebounds.
