Basketball Game Preview: Port Jervis Raiders vs. Fallsburg Comets

The Port Jervis Raiders will challenge the Fallsburg Comets at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in Port Jervis' favor as the team sits on nine straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Fallsburg has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road also dating back to last season.

On Tuesday, Port Jervis took a blow against Saugerties, falling 71-42. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 367th, while the Sawyers are ranked 131st).

Meanwhile, Fallsburg was beaten by Spackenkill 103-29 on Friday.

Port Jervis' defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Fallsburg, their loss dropped their record down to 1-6.

Port Jervis didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Fallsburg in their previous matchup back in January of 2022, but they still walked away with a 56-51 win.
