Recap: Loudoun Valley Vikings vs. Briar Woods Falcons
The Loudoun Valley Vikings had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They were dealt a 60-27 loss at the hands of Briar Woods. Loudoun Valley lost against Briar Woods in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 55-33 score last time.
Briar Woods' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hope Drake, who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Noelle Cabiness was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 7 rebounds.
Loudoun Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Briar Woods, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Loudoun Valley will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lightridge at 7:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. As for Briar Woods, they will head out on the road to face off against Broad Run at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
