Basketball Game Preview: Cordova Wolves vs. Collierville Dragons

Cordova is 1-9 against Collierville since November of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Cordova Wolves will take on the Collierville Dragons at 6:00 p.m.

Cordova is headed into Friday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Tuesday. They took a blow against Arlington, falling 66-27.

Meanwhile, Collierville had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Tigers 51-21. The Dragons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 22 points or more this season.

Cordova better keep an eye on Jekhyra Rodgers. She was instrumental in Collierville's win, going 7 of 15 on her way to 16 points and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Ann Jennings, who posted six points and six steals.

Collierville smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in six consecutive games.

Collierville has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.8 points per game. As for Cordova, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.

Cordova was dealt a bruising 62-16 loss at the hands of Collierville in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. Can Cordova avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
