Basketball Recap: Ezekiel Verwys' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Potter's House Christian over Western Michigan Christian

Potter's House Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They received a blow as they fell 51-33 to the Western Michigan Christian Warriors. While losing is never fun, the Pumas can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 558th in Michigan, while the Warriors are ranked 251st in Michigan).

Potter's House Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ezekiel VerWys, who posted eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Caleb DeMoor-Tannor, who earned five points and seven boards.

Even though they lost, Potter's House Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Potter's House Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Western Michigan Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.

Potter's House Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Western Michigan Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 54-44 loss against North Muskegon on the 26th.
