Baseball Recap: Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus Takes a Loss

It was a Battle of the Birds when Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus duked it out with Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park on Saturday. The Ravens came up short against the Hawks, falling 22-3. The Ravens have struggled against the Hawks recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Eduardo Calderon made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and two runs. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played. Dominic Chavez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus' defeat dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5.

Coming up, Intrinsic Charter School Downtown Campus will take on Cristo Rey Jesuit in a tournament on Monday. As for Horizon Science Academy McKinley Park, they will host Schaumburg Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Conquerors have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 10.18 runs per game on average), something the Hawks will no doubt try to take advantage of.
