Basketball Recap: Eddie Monterrubio's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Edgewood over Cocoa Beach + How To Watch

Edgewood lost against Cocoa Beach back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Red Wolves took a 49-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Minutemen. The Red Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Edgewood's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Eddie Monterrubio, who went 7-for-15 on his way to 16 points along with eight boards and four steals. Monterrubio is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in each of the last four games he's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Manan Patel, who posted five points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.

Tristan Louis produced another solid performance shooting 47% from the field to rack up 17 points and six boards for Cocoa Beach. Louis also put up two assists, which were his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jude Mohr-Bollinger, who put up ten points and three steals.

Edgewood now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Cocoa Beach, their record is now 3-1.

Edgewood didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 70-32 defeat against Heritage on the 25th. As for Cocoa Beach, they have also already played their next matchup, a 50-41 win against Trinity Prep on the 1st.
