Bronaugh comes up short despite Strauss Banes' dominant performance

It was a good run, but the Bronaugh Wildcats unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 68-56 to Galena. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Despite the loss, Bronaugh still got an impressive performance from Strauss Banes, who scored 29 points along with six rebounds and three steals. That was a full 51.8% of Bronaugh's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tucker Duncan, who scored 13 points along with five steals.

Bronaugh struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.

Bronaugh's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Galena, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season.

Bronaugh will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Liberal at 3:30 p.m. on January 20th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Missouri (Liberal is ranked 384th, while Bronaugh is ranked 374th). As for Galena, they will head out on the road to face off against Clever at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
