Soccer Game Preview: North Sanpete vs. Manti

North Sanpete hasn't had much luck against Manti recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The North Sanpete Hawks will head out on the road to face off against the Manti Templars at 4:00 p.m. North Sanpete has given up an average of 3.4 goals per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.

North Sanpete came into their game on Wednesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Juab, falling 6-1. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Hawks couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, Manti made sure to put some goals up on the board against Richfield on Wednesday. They never let the Wildcats get on the board and left with an 8-0 win. Tommy Bridges was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

The victory was the fourth in a row for Manti, bringing their record for this year to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those four games. As for North Sanpete, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

North Sanpete suffered a grim 6-0 defeat to Manti when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can North Sanpete avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
