Softball Recap: Analy Takes a Loss

Analy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the San Rafael Bulldogs. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Bulldogs from their previous meeting back in April of 2022.

Sophia Pellini was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up six earned runs off six hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Bella Jurek was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. Maya Antonelli was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Analy's record now sits at 1-3. As for San Rafael, their win bumped their record up to 3-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Analy will host St. Vincent de Paul at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for San Rafael, they will be playing at home against Monte Vista at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. San Rafael is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8 runs per game this season.
