Baseball Recap: Academy for College and Career Exploration Comes Up Short

After flying high against Edmondson-Westside last Friday, Academy for College and Career Exploration came back down to earth. Academy for College and Career Exploration fell just short of the Mergenthaler Vo-Tech Mustangs by a score of 8-6 on Wednesday. Academy for College and Career Exploration was not able to make up for their loss to Mergenthaler Vo-Tech from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Devin Gollick made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in both of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennard Swinton, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Academy for College and Career Exploration now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Mergenthaler Vo-Tech, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-1-1.

Coming up, Academy for College and Career Exploration will square off against Patterson at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Mergenthaler Vo-Tech has already played their next match (against Coppin Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
