Baseball Recap: Raytown Comes Up Short

Raytown came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 14-4 to the Truman Patriots. The loss continues a trend for the Bluejays in their meetings with the Patriots: they've now lost seven in a row.

Raytown saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Dunn, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.

Raytown now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Truman, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Raytown Bluejays duke it out with Ruskin Golden Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Truman, they will venture away from home to face off against Raytown South at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
