Basketball Recap: Clearwater Triumphs

Clearwater's tournament run continued when they took on Winthrop College Prep Academy on Saturday. The Tornadoes secured a 54-50 W over the Spartans. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tornadoes.

Kris Foote had another great game (as he tends to do), shooting 5-for-9 from downtown and dropping a double-double with 27 points and ten rebounds. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 15.7 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kandiyel Tirado, who posted eight points.

Clearwater's record now sits at 11-3. As for Winthrop College Prep Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Clearwater will take on Dunedin at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Foote and PIERCE ADKINS. As for Winthrop College Prep Academy, they will square off against Bell Creek Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
