Recap: Maranatha Minutemen vs. King/Drew Golden Eagles

The Maranatha Minutemen's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They took a 63-57 hit to the loss column at the hands of King/Drew. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Maranatha lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Zain Mahmood, who scored 14 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Nwabudike, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

Maranatha dropped their record down to 16-9 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for King/Drew, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Maranatha will square off against Whittier Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for King/Drew, they will head out on the road to square off against Crenshaw at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
