Baseball Recap: Port Charlotte Comes Up Short

Port Charlotte managed to slip by Manatee the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Port Charlotte Pirates lost 7-1 to the Manatee Hurricanes on Tuesday. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hurricanes apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2023.

Port Charlotte has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. The victory was the fifth in a row for Manatee, bringing their record for this year to 10-3.

Coming up, Port Charlotte will take on Cardinal Mooney at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Cardinal Mooney is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season. As for Manatee, they will be taking part in a tournament against Don Bosco Prep at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
