Basketball Game Preview: Eastside Rams vs. Santa Fe Raiders

Eastside is 1-9 against Santa Fe since December of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Eastside Rams will welcome the Santa Fe Raiders at 7:30 p.m. Santa Fe took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Eastside, who comes in off a win.

Eastside is coming into the game on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight wins. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Moore Haven on Monday, sneaking past 43-40.

Eastside's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Laquan Prunty led the charge by putting up six points and five steals. Another player making a difference was Amari Ray, who posted nine points.

Eastside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 22-22 at halftime, Santa Fe was not quite Gainesville's equal in the second half on Thursday. They fell to the Hurricanes 56-52. The Raiders have struggled against the Hurricanes recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Eastside's victory bumped their record up to 3-15. As for Santa Fe, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
