Baseball Recap: Bruton's Losing Streak Snapped at Four Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Tabb, Bruton was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Northampton Yellowjackets 6-5. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Ty Yates was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of William Muller, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Bruton's victory bumped their record up to 2-6. As for Northampton, they dropped their record down to 1-3 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season.

Bruton will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on West Point at 4:30 p.m. on the 14th. As for Northampton, they will challenge Broadwater Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Yellowjackets' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Vikings have averaged an impressive 6.7 runs per game this season.
