Soccer Recap: Narbonne Comes Up Short

Narbonne lost against South Gate back in December of 2015 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Narbonne Gauchos fell just short of the South Gate Rams by a score of 2-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Gauchos came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 165th, while the Rams are ranked 369th).

Narbonne's goal came courtesy of Bryan Maldonado, who's now up to 13 this season.

Narbonne's loss dropped their record down to 6-3-2. As for South Gate, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4-2 record this season.

Narbonne will welcome Mendez at 4:00 p.m. on January 6th. Mendez is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.1 goals per game this season. As for South Gate, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 0-0 defeat against Lakewood on the 28th.
